About war, Obama, Fox News and Rupert Murdoch

Why does most, if not all, of the media mentions Obama's "war" on Fox. Surely, it is Fox News, this comedy channel, taking itself so seriously, without humor I might add, by calling itself a "news" channel, that started any "war". Surely, it is the totally biased and somewhat moronic coverage of the current US administration by Fox News that started it all. I mean, Obama didn't point at Fox for its fair coverage. So. lets start by calling it then, in the interest of truth: Fox News war on Obama!

I also would like to note that calling this episode a "war" is of itself a hyperbole, that cheap media's favorite trick of the trade, and a trivialization of what wars really are.

That Fox News, does call this kerfuffle a war on itself, I expect no less, but that the serious media falls for the same language dumbfounds me and makes me very suspicious of the current state of journalism in the US. Are they running out of news?

Rupert Murdoch has made a big deal about the grave threat to journalism that can only be stymied, it seems, by allowing him to enrich himself and his businesses, by charging for content on the Internet. If Fox News quality is what Murdoch wants to defend and charge for, I, for one, don't think it is worth saving.

#2 As I said, it, definitely, is

As I said, it, definitely, is Fox News that started any "war". This news service is not a news service but a blatant attempt at thwarting the most redeeming aspects of what the USA stands for. Of course, social responsibility and democracy are concepts that totally escape Faux News' executives. I sincerely hope that the presidential elections results are more representative of the US zeitgeist than the lunacy expressed by a handful at Faux News and their ilk.

#4 Why Drupal?

First a translation of the above comment for those who cannot read Russian.:

"Good you have a site, however. )) And why the engine chose Drupal?"

Now for my answer to the question.

I choose Drupal as my evaluation was that as far as CMS are concerned, Drupal was far more flexible than the alternatives (WordPress and others). Having said that, should I start again and I may very well do, I would choose a different solution, I think. I have been investigating Django and I feel it would provide an even more flexible and more easily scalable experience..

Unfortunately, porting from Drupal to Django, is not a trivial problem, but I am looking at ways of doing that as I now have requirements of having application type features on this site, and that is not easily realizable with Drupal.
